VisArts is pleased to invite applications from emerging curators who are eager to gain valuable experience in exhibition-making. This opportunity allows participants to collaborate with an experienced mentoring curator to develop and present an exhibition in VisArts’ Kaplan Gallery in the fall of 2025.
The VisArts Emerging Curator Program provides a rare chance for an up-and-coming curator or artist with a passion for curating to work alongside a seasoned mentor. Together, they will curate and present an exhibition, while also assisting the mentor with their own exhibition. The program emphasizes the development of educational initiatives and visitor engagement, with a focus on creating tools that enhance public programming to foster social interaction, creative exchange, and a deeper connection with audiences.
As part of the program, the Emerging Curator will receive a $10,000 budget to cover exhibition costs and curatorial fees. Additional funding and support for promotional materials, printing, and exhibition programming execution will also be available. The program runs for one year, starting in January 2025.
