Since its inception in 1976, the Association of Illustrators (AOI) has proudly hosted a juried competition that highlights the best in illustration. In 2015, this event took on a new life as the World Illustration Awards (WIA), created in collaboration with the Directory of Illustration. Over the years, the WIA has gained momentum, becoming a vital force for recognizing and supporting creative talent on a global scale. By offering illustrators a chance to connect with peers and engage with the broader illustration industry, WIA serves as an essential platform for celebrating artistic excellence.
To ensure inclusivity, the Association of Illustrators and Directory of Illustration are providing 40 illustrators the opportunity to enter one project into the 2024 World Illustration Awards free of charge. This initiative aims to reduce financial barriers for talented individuals who might not otherwise afford the entry fee.
