FREE ENTRY / Ausserschwyz cantonal school - Art in architecture

Art in architecture is to decorate the new Ausserschwyz Cantonal School (KSA) in Pfäffikon. Artists have until October 3, 2023 to submit project ideas that, as artistic contributions, meaningfully complement the architecture or the associated environment. The handover of the work is planned for the beginning of the 2025 school year.

The building construction authority has advertised a study contract for art in architecture at the Ausserschwyz cantonal school in Pfäffikon. The aim of the study is to place high-quality works of art in the interior and/or exterior of the building in such a way that architecture and art merge into an overall aesthetic concept. The choice of means of expression is open and the artists are free to use one or more locations with their contribution.

Two-stage approach

The selection of the appropriate work of art takes place in a two-stage process. All interested parties can apply for this contract in a preliminary process until October 3, 2023. An assessment committee then selects a maximum of six artists or teams for the actual study assignment. From these suggestions, one or more projects are selected for execution. The goal is for the work to decorate the new KSA school building at the beginning of the 2025 school year.
